Hello and Welcome
Thank you for caring to think about our children and their learning. The goal of this blog is to make organization, information, and communication easier for this movement towards improving our education system and related expectations.
I must express my total amazement over the incredible support, gratitude, and attention that I have received locally and nationally. You have shown that we can and do care. Thank you.

David represents the tens of thousands of teachers around the country who recognize the deceit behind NCLB. It is a tool for those who wish to dismantle public education and place it with corporate greed.
I read a comment that complimented David on his initial refusal to administer the Wisconsin test but then was critical of David for acquiescing under threats of losing his job. This was, I feel, an unfair critique because David has another responsibility---the welfare of his family.
Nevertheless, David's actions need to inspire others to take similar actions and force the hand of those in power to unveil the environment of fear which permeates many of our public schools. Teachers are afraid to speak up because of either real or perceived threats of administrative retaliation.
Most school districts have policies which allow for teachers to have sick leave. Perhaps a mass refusal to administer tests can take the form of mass sick days. Just a thought.

David has shown tremendous courage to take a stand against an arbitrary and unfair test that hurts children, diminishes and punishes teachers and undermines our public schools. May he be joined by honest and fair-minded individuals across our great country to care about America's children and our future.
